Keeping your Christian Faith Positive

Random thoughts on a Tuesday morning--I'm working out an outline for my Positive Christianity book: What are some things to keep you off the bigotry wagon? Be tolerant, lower your expectations (holding someone to Jesus standard can tear them down -- take the example from a marriage), accept that you have faith in something that has no hard core proof, just circumstantial evidence, so stop judging other people's beliefs. Make Christianity so attractive by being a positive person that people will want to be around you. Life sucks as it is, so any glimmer of hope in this lifetime is attractive. Jesus had crowds around him because he offered hope. We're seeing the same effect now in politics. George Bush represents the pharisees, Obama represents the new change in the religion of democracy. If we upheld the virtues of the fruit of the Spirit verses and not the acts of the carnal nature ones we'd be better off. Think about what it feels like to wake up every morning beating yourself up -- not a great way to start the day. Forgiveness leads to healing -- you can't relive the past. Once you get that in your head, you're on the path to healing and a positive outlook. Feeling Good, Cognitive Distortions in Christianity. Happiness. Buddhism.
