Creating Your Own Happiness
Is it possible to create your own happiness? What we think about we bring about? I'm not sure about the science behind it but I've seen it work. It has brought results and I'm amazed. I'm not talking about small little coincidental results, I'm saying it's big. Really Big!
The idea of creating your own happiness has it's roots in the Bible and a modern thinking revival movement started in the early 1900's. Some call it Deliberate Creation. The new book sensation 'The Secret" has built it's success on these teachings.
Before you start going off on a rant about how it's a new age thing, keep in mind that there is some scientific support behind the idea of it as well. I don't embrace some of the "spirituality" behind these ideas, but I am a believer in the power of the mind. Thoughts produce action. So whatever we're thinking will motivate us in that direction. Most of us, from my experience when talking with people, tend to perpetuate the negative. I think it's the cause of a lot of bad things that happen. When someone struggles with negative thoughts, they drive themselves to do things they regret. When someone is feeling happy about life, they tend to be generous and kind.
I have seen my life change dramatically with this shift in my thinking. Every day I remember what I'm grateful for. I anticipate good things happening. And although it doesn't eliminate some of the crazy things that can happen, for the most part I'm very happy in my life.
So, is it possible to create your own happiness? Looking at the evidence of my life in the past three years, I believe the answer is "YES".
